Spring Banquet is the Chinese tradition of gathering with friends and family for a multi-course dinner to welcome in the New Year. While the Oakland Chinatown Spring Banquet is held a couple of months after the lunar new year, it retains the same spirit.

The Oakland Chinatown Chamber of Commerce Spring Banquet is a fundraiser event held at one of Oakland Chinatown’s premier restaurants, and draws over 300 people each year. The gala event introduces the OCCC’s new Board of Directors and includes keynote speeches and special recognition of organizations, community leaders, and members for civic contributions. 

The 37th Spring Banquet was held at Peony Restaurant on May 8, 2024. This year’s honorees are:

• Corporate Honoree – Kaiser Permanente
• Small Business Honoree – USMI (William Lim)
• Community Honoree – Laney College
